Care Level Rating

Why It’s Considered Easy
Doesn’t demand constant attention.

Resistant to most common pests compared to fussier palms.

Can live happily indoors for decades with minimal care.

It’s often recommended as one of the best palms for beginners, along with being one of the best air-purifying plants.

Care Instructions

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light, but it’s also very tolerant of low-light conditions — perfect for hallways, offices, or living rooms away from direct sun.

Watering: Prefers evenly moist soil. Water when the top couple of centimeters feel dry. It’s forgiving if you forget occasionally but it doesn't like to sit in soggy soil.

Temperature: Comfortable in normal home conditions (15–27°C). It’s more cold-tolerant than many other palms.

Humidity: Average indoor humidity is fine, but it appreciates a little extra moisture in dry environments.

Growth: Naturally slow-growing, which makes it low-maintenance — no constant pruning or repotting needed.
