"Boston ferns", "Nephrolepis exaltata" or "Boston Ivy", is one of the most well known and loved ferns grown as a houseplant. Known for its soft, feathery fronds and lush green foliage, this beautiful indoor fern brings a fresh, natural feel to any room.
Boston ferns are very versatile plants and can be styled in a number of ways throughout the home. They look great displayed on shelves, placed on windowsills, or grown in hanging baskets where their graceful fronds can cascade downwards. Their full, leafy appearance also makes them a lovely choice for creating that relaxed indoor jungle look.
While Boston ferns are considered relatively easy to care for, they do appreciate the right environment. They thrive in bright, indirect light and enjoy slightly higher humidity than many other indoor plants. With the right care, this classic houseplant will reward you with healthy, vibrant foliage.
Care Instructions
- They enjoy a cool place indoors away from central heating and direct sunlight.
- Keep their compost to remain damp, so water once per week.
- If some of the leaf fronds are a little brown, run your fingers through them gently and give it a little comb. They will love you in return with beautiful fresh fronds and that delicate sweet Boston Fern aroma.
- Spray with a water mister once or twice a week as they thrive in a humid environment.
