Beaucarnea Recurvata (Elephant's foot, Ponytail Palm)

An extraordinary architectural looking plant native in eastern Mexico.

It is an evergreen perennial and develops from the caudex (bulbous base/stem) with a great topknot of slender, arching or pendulous leaves. It was discovered in Mexico by a Frenchman in 1870 becoming popular in Europe and worldwide as an ornamental plant. Easy to grow and drought tolerant. Its caudex stores water, so occasional lack of water will do no harm. Slow growing and it does not need shaping or pruning. It tolerates dry air of heated homes extremely well.

Light bright light to full sun,Temperature average room 18-24°C.Feed monthly in spring & summer.Soil a fast draining medium such as cactus potting mix.
