The "Yucca elephantipes" or "Maya Tree" is a desert plant originating from Guatemala and Mexico, which was once inhabited by the indigenous Maya.

It owes its name to the large thickening at the bottom of its stem, which it grows in the wild. Its elephant's foot look is a natural historical feature of its species.

A mature Yucca is a brilliant plant for a hallway or a large room and can be placed outdoors in the warmer summer months.
