The "Kentia palm", " Howeia Forsteriana " or "Kentia forsteriana" is one of the most elegant and well known indoor palm plants in the world. Originally from Lord Howe Island in Australia, this beautiful palm has become a favourite houseplant in homes, hotels and offices thanks to its graceful arching fronds and timeless look.
Kentia palms are admired for their ability to thrive indoors in a wide range of conditions. They are known for being relatively shade tolerant and adaptable, which makes them an excellent choice for bright living rooms, hallways and office spaces. Their soft, feathery leaves create a relaxed tropical feel while still maintaining a refined and understated appearance.
Over time, a Kentia palm can grow into a stunning feature plant, adding height and greenery to any room. With the right care and a stable indoor environment, it can gradually develop into a large and impressive indoor palm.
Notes: This variety measures approximately 160cm–170cm in height. All large plants come with their plastic nursery pot only. Ceramic pots are sold separately.
Recommended Care - Spray the leaves with water mister. This can be done twice per week. They will love it! Kentia are Oceanic Plants and there is always moisture in the air. They do not like dry air, so get your misting going twice per week.
Enjoys bright indirect light. Position near a window or skylight but not in direct strong sunlight as this can cause damage to the leaves (indicated by brown spotting or drooping leaves)
Likes moist but not over-watered soil. Wait to water until top few inches of compost becomes fully dry. Brown leaf tips indicate over-watering.
Keep away from air conditioning units or any source of direct heat as this can dry out the soil.
Fertilise 3 times per year to maintain growth
