The "Maranta fascinator" or "Prayer Plant" grows naturally in South American jungles and are known for their beautiful leaf markings with bright red veins.
The plant is characterised by its motion - during the day the plant spreads its leaves wide and in the evening it folds them. This resembles a prayer, thus the plant is also referred to as the 'prayer plant'.
For optimal growth of the Maranta, high humidity and indirect sunlight is required. The plant does not like direct sunlight and will burn its leaves if exposed to the sun too much.
It's best to water the plant once a week, but it's important to check if the top layer of the potting soil is dry before watering again.
Overwatering is more harmful than under watering. To ensure that the plant receives the humidity it needs, the plant can be sprayed with a water 1-2 times per week.
Care Instructions:
- Enjoys light-medium light but keep away from direct sunlight.
- Likes an environment with an average temp between 15*C to 23*C.
- Keep this plant moist in summer and water sparingly in the winter.
Care Level Rating: Easy
Notes: This plant measures approx. 30cm in height.
